Auto Insurance Coverage Options for Recreation Vehicles

        The coverage options for Motorhomes are similar to auto insurance coverages. Additional insurance options are available for the special needs of RV's owners and are listed in the next section.

Auto Liability - Provides protection up to your limits for auto accidents in your motorhome that are your fault and that cause injuries or damage to others. For Fifth-Wheels & other Travel Trailers, Auto Liability is extended from the towing vehicle.

Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist - Provides protection up to your limits for injuries or damage caused to you in an auto accident caused by another driver without auto insurance or with inadequate auto insurance, or, who drives away (hit-and-run).
 
Medical / Personal Injury Protection - Provides funds for medical bills for you and your passengers if injured in an accident while in your auto up to your limit. Personal Injury Protection includes both medical bills and lost wages.
 
Comprehensive (Other than Collision) - Protects the value of the auto from damage caused by events other than collision.  Examples: stolen vehicle, storm damage, wildlife collision and vandalism.
 
Collision - Protects the value of the auto from damage caused in an auto accident.
 
Rental Car Reimbursement - Provides funds to compensate you for a rental auto due to loss of use of your auto after an accident or other insured event.
 
Towing & Roadservice - This is a convenience coverage which helps with towing after a mechanical breakdown or other roadside service that may be needed (flat tire, out of gas, etc.).

Special Coverage Options for Recreation Vehicles

Trip Interruption - Protection from the added cost of interruption of your trip due to insured event because your vehicle is damaged.
 
Contents - Protections your possessions in your Travel Trailer or Motorhome from perils of theft, fire or upset. This insurance coverage is particularly important for folks using their RV as a full time residence.
 
Attached Accessories - This is additional coverage for expensive attached items such as awnings and antennas.
 
Personal Liability - This is legal protection for unintended acts of you, your family members and your pets that cause injury or damage to others. This insurance coverage is particularly important for folks using their RV as a full time residence and don't have this coverage extended from a Home Insurance policy.
